    • The article discusses the discovery of a 17th century painted ceiling inside a house situated at 52 (formerly 20) rue Jacob in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood in Paris, France. The painting, which includes animal, plant, and cherub iconography, is described. The author discusses Laurent Reverend, who was the advisor and secretary of French King Louis XIV and owned the building from 1663 to 1688, and his son Jacques. Additional topics include the book discussing the house titled "Mémoires généalogiques sur la Maison Le Révérend," by Edmond Le Révérend du Mesnil, and Reverend's relations with artists such as Charles Le Brun and engravers Georges Charmeton, Alexis Loir, and Paul Androuet du Cerceau.
