  • The author discusses campaigns geared toward investing in the future of art history and French government aid given to higher education and research establishments. Also discussed are how projects are subjected to a jury and renegotiated with several French government agencies including the Ministère de la Recherche et de l'Enseignement supérieur. Additional topics include French scientific research projects called Initiatives d'excellence (IDEX) and the author's assessment of the state of art history projects..
