A chemical puzzle is presented as an entertaining learning activity for intermediate-level chemistry students. It is in fact an adaptation of a somewhat classical pastime to the world of chemistry. Data required to solve the puzzle may be obtained by deducing information from the several clue statements given, which are based on both inorganic and organic chemistry. Once all necessary information has been deducted from the chemical point of view, students compile all these data, taking into account that the data must agree without any exception or contradiction. Therefore, this puzzle requires a combination of chemical knowledge and intelligence and may be useful to teachers for encouraging students in the learning process as well as testing their skills.
