Se ofrece una consideración sobre el temprano soporte andino de un género historiográfico cultivado del Renacimiento a la Ilustración, el de las historias naturales. Su sistemática articulación con las historias morales o etnografías tempranas ocurrió originariamente en la obra del jesuita Acosta, y se divulgó extensamente hasta la obra del geólogo alemán Alejandro de Humboldt. Pero antes fue cultivado este género mixto por los ilustrados peruanos, en particular por el economista Lecuanda, cuya obra se conoce actualmente mejor.

A consideration is offered on the early Andean support of a cultivated historiographical genre of the Renaissance to the illustration, the natural histories. Its systematic articulation with the moral stories or early ethnographies originally occurred in the work of the Jesuit Acosta, and reported extensively to the work of the German geologist Alejandro de Humboldt. But before this mixed genre was cultivated by the Peruvian illustrated writers, in particular by the Economist Lecuanda, whose work is now currently known best.
