    Los años setenta en Canarias son testigos de un increíble desarrollo de la cinematografía no profesional, manifestación de gran importancia como respuesta estética e ideológica al proceso político de la Transición española. El siguiente estudio analiza previamente los puntos de inflexión contextuales que sirven de acicate tanto a la vanguardia artística como a los grupos de cineastas amateur, además de los condicionantes tecnológicos y la infraestructura que soporta su desarrollo. La producción amateur de Teodoro y Santiago Ríos, núcleo del texto, aparece desglosada en su totalidad, no solo para servir como ejemplo de la producción amateur en estos años, sino como interpretación del contenido y la forma que conformarán el lenguaje cinematográfico posterior de los hermanos

    During the 70s in the Canary Islands we find an interesting group of filmmakers that work in non-professional formats. Their short films and their theorist discussions, between the naivety, the experimentalism and the political and social compromise were a good example of the artistic positions that unleashed during the Spanish Transition. This study starts with a short journey through the technical and ideological issues that surrounded the group and also analyzes the first works of Teodoro and Santiago Ríos, the most relevant figures of the movement and main characters in the cinematographic scene in the Canary Islands through the 80s.
