    Este artículo pretende definir el trayecto a través de cual la animación ha pasado a convertirse no sólo en una técnica habitual sino también en un tema para un número creciente de artistas contemporáneos. Hemos partido del análisis de las exposiciones sobre este medio a través de las publicaciones derivadas de las mismas, principalmente catálogos y reseñas, junto con otros textos dedicados a la animación. La reflexión sobre estas muestras nos ha servido para establecer una taxonomía de diferentes modelos expositivos atendiendo a sus intereses conceptuales, formales o didácticos. Estos diferentes tratamientos han servido como guía para una posible clasificación de las distintas actitudes de los creadores de animación hacia sus obras. A su vez, hemos visto como el contexto digital ha facilitado la eclosión de una nueva generación de artistas que han tratado la animación desde la hibridación con otras técnicas y disciplinas pero teniendo muy presente la tradición y los códigos específicos del medio

    The article aims to define the path that animation has taken to become not only a common technique, but also a theme for a growing number of contemporary artists. We begin with the analysis of the exhibitions about this medium through publications obtained about these, mainly catalogues and reviews, together with other texts about animation. By studying these exhibitions, we have been able to establish a form of taxonomy for different exhibition models, taking into account their conceptual, formal or educational interest. These different techniques have served as a guide for a possible classification of the different attitudes of the animation creators towards their work. We have also seen how digital imagery has enabled the emergence of a new generation of artists that have been using animation through a merger with other techniques and disciplines but never losing sight of the specific tradition and codes of the medium
