In this study the profitability and comparative advantage of the wheat crop in the region Cortazar, Guanajuato was evaluated during Cycle Autumn - Winter 2002-2003.
The analysis was based on the schema of the Policy Analysis Matrix (MAP) (Monke and Pearson, 1989) that builds on private households (market prices) and budgets (efficiency prices). Referenced two current technologies and potential available in the different municipalities comprising the District Rural Development 005 (DDR 005) Cortazar; also three technologies under the modes of irrigation pumping (BMF), gravity (GMF) and gravity irrigation potential (GMF-pot.) at market prices are included. Prices of economic efficiency in all production systems showed no positive gains, in example, do not have comparative advantage.
