  • Resumen
    • The author contends that most Latin American countries adopted more stable and open economic policies as democratization coincided with economic overhaul. He says that the human rights violations in the region are not exclusively a matter of new trends and democratization has not taken place without difficulties. He also discussed important gains in economic and social rights, reduced levels of extreme poverty, and the transitional justice in Argentina.
