Este artículo plantea una reflexión acerca del uso de las redes sociales para el desarrollo de contextos educativos. Estos espacios virtuales han despertado el interés de quienes ansían implementar nuevas estrategias de enseñanza para favorecer impactos positivos y relevantes en el estudiante como destinatario a quien se quiere llegar con contenidos valiosos. Si bien los experimentos realizados en Latinoamérica -como el proyecto Facebook en Argentina- que han marcado un hito histórico en su ejecución y han arrojado interesantes resultados, aún siguen atrayendo a los estudiantes que participan en ellos, más por el carácter mediático y cautivante de sus particularidades comunicativas y de entretenimiento, que por su solidez como ambiente de encuentro académico.
This article is a reflection about the use of social networks for the development of educational contexts. These virtual spaces have attracted the interest of those who anxious to implement new teaching strategies to promote positive and relevant impacts on the student as the recipient to whom you want to reach with valuable content. Experiments realized in Latin America, as the Facebook project in Argentina, which have marked a milestone in its execution and have produced interesting results, still attract students who participate in them, more for the media and engaging nature of its specific communication and entertainment particularities, than its strength as a meeting academic environment.
