This scenario allowed us to raise the following main objective: To establish the frequency of iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women attending the health center " San Roque " during the months of September and October. Sucre 2011 , using hematological, biochemical techniques. Referring to the general objective it was established that the frequency of iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women attending the San Roque Health Center during the months of September and October , 2011 Sucre was 39.4 %. Hemoglobin , Hematocrit , serum iron , transferrin , transferrin saturation according to gestational age was associated ; where it was observed that those pregnant women who had iron deficiency anemia, a high percentage were in their third trimester. Hemoglobin , Hematocrit , serum iron , transferrin , transferrin saturation according to the age of the patients was related ; where it was observed that those pregnant women suffer from iron deficiency anemia, a high percentage were among the ages of 25-29 years. Hemoglobin , Hematocrit , serum iron , transferrin , transferrin saturation according pregnancies , observed in those pregnant women who had two or more previous pregnancies , a higher frequency of iron deficiency anemia, compared to pregnant women who were enrolled with was related prior to the time of the study conducted pregnancy. Hemoglobin, Hematocrit , serum iron , transferrin , transferrin saturation according to the number of abortions was related , showing the presence of iron deficiency anemia in those pregnant women had a higher number of abortions.
