    • The Secretary of Tourism defines tourism as a travel alternative that aim recreational activities in direct contact with nature and cultural expressions that develop an attitude and commitment to know, respect, enjoy and participate in the conservation of resources natural and cultural.

      The Universidad Tecnológica del Poniente has the TSU Career in Tourism Development (Alternative Tourism Products), and they decided to design an ethno touristic park called Yuum Balaam, which will serve as a laboratory for the career.Technological Universities currently do not have laboratories for alternative tourism, is for them that the decision to create one, and that will enrich the curriculum of this event and help increase the education of students. With the creation of etnoturístico park aims to develop the academic potential of students of Tourism Product Development Area Alternative Tourism from the creation of the Ethnotoursitic Park Yuum Balaam, the university will contribute to economic development of the surrounding community of indigenous peoples to the area of impact: Maxcanú.
