Technological advances in data transmission have allowed society to have access to information, there are for a constant search for materials containing magnetic electrical, optical or special. Today we have entered a new era where advances in technology are more dependent than ever on the discovery and development of new useful materials. It is in this context that the present work, the Academicians UNCA - IADEX stands, synthesized a thiourea with nonlinear optical properties which could help to enrich the properties of traditional materials widely used in the transmission of information such as the optical fiber. To strengthen our hypothesis, a study measuring the economic and financial feasibility in technical products was performed as: copper, fiber optic and thiourea, the results show that it would be feasible to use thiourea ( for doping to the optical fiber ) , and which is the second most profitable product. It also follows that it is possible to manufacture optical fiber doped with thiourea, in this way avoiding the use of repeaters to amplify the signal and thereby the high costs which currently cause the amplifiers in the data transmission would be high.
