  • Resumen
    • The goal of this study is to find the influence that exists between academic achievement and socioeconomic level (NSE as its initials in Spanish) of the students of the Industrial Engineering degree at the Universidad Politecnica de Altamira. This is a descriptive, analytic and explanatory study that was developed as it follows: to obtain every individual NSE, the socioeconomic survey "Regla 10X8" of the Mexican Association of Market and Opinion Agencies of Intelligence (AMAI for its initials in Spanish) was employed. Using historical information of the University database and the record of scholarships granted to its students, a correlation between NSE and academic achievement was realized. In a general perspective, a very weak correlation between these two variables was found and presented as a linear equation. The obtained results will be used to determine the efficiency of the scholarships awarded by the Universidad Politecnica de Altamira, as well as for designing strategies to help other students with low NSE to continue with their studies.
