This paper presents Web based software that helps to identify non-official trash landfills. The process consists in two phases: the first is the use of a customized data collector application, to be used on the field; and the second is the development of Web based software that integrates the geographical reference of non-official trash landfills. The area of study includes Tampico, Madero and Altamira townships that are located on the southern Tamaulipas, México. The aim of this project is, to make an application that can to be advertised by means of social networks. This allows the citizens to contribute with the localization of non-official trash landfills by reporting them to legal authorities.
