The estimation of the capacity of production of useful energy within town slaughterhouse of Guanajuato State is of great importance, since there is no appropriate management of waste generated by the slaughter and dressing of animals causing severe environmental damage so it is important to find a viable alternative that not only remedy the problem but also provide an input and is biogas which can be converted into electricity and heat through a heat and power co-generator to be utilized within the same slaughterhouse. The results of statistical analysis on the number of animals that are slaughtered annually in Guanajuato State show that biological treatment would generate enough electricity to supply a slaughterhouse and even a surplus biogas would be generated by setting the self-sustainability of the process.
