    • This study aimed analize congenital Chagas in infants under 1 year of serologically positive mothers from the community of San Lucas, Chuquisaca . The study was performed in 34 ( 100 % ) individuals , children of both sexes , from birth to their first birthday . Micromethod for Chagas and Chagas HAI : parameters are studied .

      A descriptive, observational, retrospective study using laboratory for the study records and medical records of pregnant women and newborns was performed .

      It has been able to verify the data recorded in the first month laboratory control 97 % did not attend. The second control 82% of absence, the third control 94% of absence, the fourth controlling 85 % of absence.

      At first check the child attended gave negative with micromethod .

      At the second control the 6 children who attended got negative micromethod .

      At the third control 2 children who attended got HAI Chagas No reagent.

      Control the fourth 5 children who attended gave us HAI Chagas reactive and thus not able to diagnose the newborn as infected.

      It made the children gather incomplete checks, and did not meet the four control protocol.
