    • The present study aimed to generate important information regardingChagas diseaseprevalences and mainly risk factors in our country. In suburban and rural areas of our region , where a larger number of patients is reported by the conditions of life, household habits, housing infrastructure , animal husbandry , poultry with their housing, lack of knowledge regarding the disease and lack of hygiene. Regarding Chuquisaca Department health indicators, the department present high infant morbidity and maternal mortality, this is demonstrated in their epidemiological profiles as a result of social, economic, cultural and political richness. In this research 235 samples of cord blood and peripheral , 19 positive samples are equivalent to 8% and 216 samples negative for Chagas disease in newborns were obtained.That this research will serve as a consultation to any person interested in helping to prevent or cure this deadly disease.
