  • Resumen
    • The article looks at political, social, and economic conditions in postcommunist countries. According to the authors, these nations have grown and improved since their transitions to capitalism and now resemble their peer states. It is suggested that tensions between modernization and regional trends will play a significant role in determining the future of postcommunist states. Details on household consumption, travel, and social mobility among citizens of postcommunist states are presented. Other topics include political corruption, life expectancy, and authoritarianism.
