Resumen de Fórum permanente da pessoa idosa na Região dos Campos Gerais: da proposição à criação

  A questão do envelhecimento tem sido a tônica dos debates na sociedade como um todo especialmente no nível político e social, visto o processo acelerado de crescimento da população idosa. No Brasil, a partir da Constituição Federal de 1988, instituiu-se um aparato legal no sentido de contemplar os direitos da pessoa idosa cabendo ao Estado assegurar tais direitos e à sociedade civil, tendo em vista o princípio da democratização, o exercício do controle social através de diferentes formas de organização. Os Fóruns se constituem em espaços reais de organização política e fortalecimento das lutas sociais propiciando a articulação e proposição de ações para efetivação dos direitos legalmente instituídos. O objetivo deste artigo é relatar a trajetória de organização e criação do Fórum Permanente da Pessoa Idosa na região dos Campos Gerais a partir do Projeto de extensão �Assessoria ao Fórum Permanente da Pessoa Idosa � Região dos Campos Gerais�

  The issue of aging has been the subject of debate in society as a whole due to the fast growth of elderly population, especially in the political and social level. In Brazil, the Federal Constitution of 1988, instituted a legal apparatus to deal with the rights of older people in which the state is responsible for ensuring these rights and the civil society is responsible, in view of the principle of democratization, for the social control through different forms of organization. Forums are real spaces for political organization and a way to strengthen social struggles, providing opportunity to articulate and propose actions to make effective the rights legally established. The aim of this paper is to report the history of the organization and creation of the Permanent Forum for Elderly in Campos Gerais. It arouse out of the extension project Assistance to the Permanent Forum for the Elderly in Campos Gerais.
