This paper intends to present the Alternative Punishment Monitoring Center, in Jacarezinho/PR. The center aims to supply the whole population with information about the importance of actions, penalties and the alternative social benefits. Thus, it seeks to raise public awareness, provide the judicial system with assistance in such measures and offer a real chance for social rehabilitation. The research was conducted through bibliographic review, searches on the Internet and interviews with offenders. It includes some comments about the importance of alternative penalties, the work developed by the center, as well as charts prepared after a survey data conducted with the offenders, which contains important information about the profile of those who are under the center supervision.

O presente trabalho tem por objetivo apresentar o Núcleo de Monitoramento de Penas Alternativas de Jacarezinho/PR, cuja proposta é levar a toda a população informações sobre a importância das medidas, penas e prestações sociais alternativas, estimulando a conscientização popular e auxiliando o Poder Judiciário na aplicação de tais medidas, oferecendo ao reeducando uma chance real de reinserção social. A pesquisa, realizada através de revisão bibliográfica, buscas de material relativo ao tema na Internet e entrevistas realizadas com os infratores, traz algumas considerações sobre a importância das penas alternativas, o trabalho desenvolvido pelo Núcleo, bem como gráficos elaborados após um levantamento de dados realizados com os transgressores, que contêm informações importantes a respeito do perfil daqueles que são atendidos e acompanhados pelo Núcleo.
