  • Although a widerange ofimproved varietieson the market, this technology is notavailable to manyfarmers becauseit is often notpossible togetorbecause its price isvery high. The objective of this research was to evaluate the agronomic improved landraces and their parents in two sowing dates. Ten maize genotypes were evaluated:Celaya native, Cuenda native, H-374C, variety Roque, M1 (Celaya ~ H-374C), M2 (Celaya ~ V-322), M3 (Cuenda ~ Roque), M1RC1 (M1 ~ Celaya), M2RC1 (M2 ~ Celaya) and M3RC1 (M3 ~ Cuenda), of which the H-374C and V-322C belong to CEBAJ-INIFAP and other genotypes are owned breeding program of the ITR landraces. The following characters were evaluated: days to silking, ear health, prolificacy index, field performance and components.Where each experimental unit consisted of six rows 10 meters long, an experimental design of randomized complete block with 10 genotypes and three replications. Combined analysis of variance was performed through planting dates using the PROC GLM procedure of SAS (SAS, 1999) view. 8.1 test and multiple comparison of means according to Tukey was 0.05. There were significant differences (p . 0.01) among genotypes for female flowering, field performance, ear health and prolificacy index. Similarly, the genotypes showed a strong genetic diversity for yield components. Regarding planting date evaluation was statistical effect for days to silking, field performance, ear health and ear prolificacy index, as well as yield components. Thus, the first planting date provided the best performance for most of the variables evaluated.
