Resumen de Aplicación de la granacochinillaen las áreas: Textily cosméticos

• A very important natural dye for Mexico is the cochineal insect, since this insect was booming in the country in the colonial era. Currently the use of natural colorants becomes very important in a time when there is concern for the environment and the sustainable use of natural resources, allowing a profit while being environmentally friendly. The Academic Body of "Ciencia y Tecnología Agroindustrial" of the "Departamento de Ingeniería Agroindustrial", aware of the above has made several projects about the cochineal, which were have been funded by different sources of internal and external financing. These projects have generated a wide range of applications and knowledge since 2004 until today, clinching same new technological applications as well as the rescue of the cultural richness of the traditional use of cochineal. These projects represent an alternative to the use of synthetic dyes especially in the environmental impact by reducing its use. So the aim of this paper is to present the most relevant results of research that has been developing around the projects in the application of the cochineal in textiles and cosmetics.
