El objetivo de este artículo es presentar brevemente las principales teorías barajadas por los especialistas en torno a las causas de la expansión vikinga, el alcance del asentamiento escandinavo en Inglaterra, la posterior conversión al cristianismo de los colonos y el impacto que la presencia nórdica tuvo sobre la Iglesia anglosajona.

The aim of this work is to make a brief compilation of the main theories followed by the experts regarding the causes of the Viking expansion, the extent of the Scandinavian colonization of England, the latter conversion of the settlers to Christianity and the scale of the Viking impact upon the Anglo-Saxon Church.
