Resumen de Resultados del seguimiento arqueológico de las obras de rehabilitación del Fuerte de San Cristóbal en Badajoz

  Se presentan los resultados de los trabajos arqueológicos efectuados en el fuerte de S. Cristóbal de Badajoz con motivo de las obras de rehabilitación de 2013. Las estructuras encontradas y los materiales arqueológicos indican una ocupación calcolítica, además de un horizonte cultural del Bronce final y posibles ruinas de la ermita de S. Cristobal. Pero la mayoría de las estructuras corresponden al fuerte del s. XVII y sobre todo a las reformas francesas de inicios del XIX y posteriores acondicionamientos.

  A presentation of the results of the field work made in the Fort of St. Cristóbal in the city of Badajoz, in the context of the rehabilitation works in 2013. The structures uncovered and the artifacts point at a Calcolithic occupation, in adition to a Final Bronze Age horizon and the possible remains of the church of St. Cristóbal. However, most of the buidings are part of the 17th century fort and mostly to the French rebuiding from the beginning of the 19th century and the re-estructuration.
