    • The purpose of this study was to present the results of the diagnostic study about meaning of life to 78 students. These students are at the nursing degree the public University of Yucatan. The instrument used was Purpose in Life (PIL) on its version in Spanish, wich had been translated and adapted by Noblejas de la Flor (1994) to vocational characteristics that are required for this profession, emphasizing values and prosocial character of this profession. A nonexperimental research, transactional design was used. The results showed that students had strengths in factors related to the perception of meaning, sense experiences, goals and tasks. Also are clearly related to the vocational profile required, but not in the destination/freedom dialectic, indicating difficulties with coping death.
