Resumen de Revalorización de residuos sólidos orgánicos y biosólidos mediante composteo.

María Hernández, Beatriz Juárez, Isaías de la Rosa Gómez, María Carreño

  • In recent decades, industrial development and the growth and concentration of population have resulted in an increase in the generation of municipal solid waste (MSW) and wastewater. The first contains organic solid waste (RSO) mainly from markets and households, to be biodegraded anaerobically to produce biogas; whilethesecond to be processed in the treatment plants wastewatergeneratebiosolids. To revalue such waste, the aim of this work was to determine the appropriate combination of biosolids and RSO to produce merchantable quality compost in less than three months. For this three static piles of 250 kg were prepared using 30% clay and the following proportions of RSO and biosolid respectively 60 and 10% (P9), 50 and 20% (P10) and 40 and 30% (P11). Although the three composts are cataloged as excellent in heavy metal, they reached temperatures that eliminated pathogens and comply with the NTEA-SMA-006-RS-2006, the P10 is recommended for stabilization time. The compost obtained in a shorter time than 30 days with C / N ratios between 4 and 8,is a test of the viability to revalue the RSO and biosolids.
