The peanut processing generates large quantities of solid waste. These residues represent a serious environmental problem and do not have a proper mechanism for disposal. In this work, activated carbons from peanut hulls peanut hulls as precursor.Las were obtained with peanut producer group called "Peanut Producers Integrated in the South region of Puebla", same as they were preserved so far prepared use. The method is divided into two stages: preparation of the activated carbon and determination of specific surface, pore diameter and volume of the samples obtained, the chemical activation using KOH was used (10 and 20%) and H3PO4 (50 and 85%) carbonization temperature 400 and 700 ° C. The highest yield was obtained H3PO450 sample CA-700 24.868% and a higher surface area of 1968.45 m2 / g, a pore volume of 2.10 cm 3 a pore diameter of 17.68 Å. Therefore, peanut hulls is a material that meets the necessary properties to produce activated carbons.
