The human-machine interfaces are tools used in daily life in industries worldwide for monitoring and data collection in production processes. In this case an investigation is presented taking into account the business aspects of the city of Tijuana, Baja California and the academic field of technological universities in Mexico in order to analyze the types of industries in the city, marks the predominant HMI in them, the types and levels of implementation, as well as the degree of obsolescence and knowledge engineers who are in contact with them have.
Also provides an overview of the way these subjects were taught in universities with an engineering degree in mechatronics in UUTT as part of the generation of HMI trained human capital and thus to determine whether there is a deficiency in the amount of literary material for further development of a manual.
