Resumen de Innovación como unidad de negocio: caso meccano de México.

  • If there ever has been a concept that is �fashionable� on the business world, INNOVATION is the king of all nowadays. Most authors agree that every enterprise needs it to survive on the long run, to grow, and to differentiate themselves. But, just as once �planning� and �strategy� once resounded, Innovation is perceived as the panacea, a magic remedy for all illnesses inside a company, yet we don�t really understand it. This work has as it main objective to ease the adoption of a structured innovation model as a conceptual framework, which in turn aims to promote the adoption of a generalized innovation culture thoughout the organization. For this, a technical note (theory) was developed, a use case was documented (real world practice) and a conceptual model of the actual process followed to innovate was created. Such a model was documented, first through abstraction of the activities and proceses we use in Meccano to analize and develop potentially innovative ideas and then through a documental research that validated it. The practical case is a compilation of small practical examples and success stories on how innovation is applied inside Meccano.
