De libros y ex libris: libro con ex libris del V Marqués de Lede (1890-1969)

    Llegado a mis manos un libro con ex libris que adquirí en una librería anti- cuaria, por su temática exclusivamente heráldica y genealógíca, reparé, años después, en el precioso ex libris que viene adherido al ejemplar (en su momento pensé que era uno más, sin especial interés); pero lo llamativo fue que en la guarda contigua al mismo figuraba una nota manuscrita del V Marqués de Lede, Excmo. Sr. Don Luis Pérez de Guzmán y Sanjuán, que me intrigó sobre manera. La nota de su puño y letra dice: Aunque lleva mi ex libris este tomo ya no me pertenece. 12-XII-1952. M de Lede.

    Ante el cierto misterio que emana de la nota, decidí investigar la peripecia «vital» del libro y la personalidad del poseedor que dice adiós a un libro de su biblioteca de una manera ¿pesarosa, melancólica?. En cualquier caso, se puede pensar que destila una cierta nostalgia por una despedida no deseada como la del amigo del alma al que vemos por última vez. Con estas líneas se intenta esbozar un inicio de método para la aproximación a una biobliografía que perfeccione el estudio de aspectos prosopográficos poco tratados o considerados.

    A book with ex libris came into my hands when I bought it in an antique shop, because of its exclusive heraldric and genealogic theme. I redressed years later, the beautiful ex libris that was attached to the book (at the time I thought it was another book, with no particular special interest); what was really amazing was that in the flyleaf next to it there was a handwritten note from the Marques de Lede, his excellency Sr. Don Luis Pérez de Guzmán y Sanjuán, which intrigued me above all. The hand-written note states: Although this volume has my ex libris it no longer belongs to me. 12.12.1952 M de Lede.

    Before the certain mystery that came from this note I decided to investigate the background of the book and the personality of its owner that says goodbye to a book in his library in such a way. Was it sorrowful, melancholic? In any case, one can say that it gives certain nostalgia to an unwished for farewell like that of a soul mate that we see for the last time. With these lines we try to sketch a start of a way to get closer to a bibliography that perfects the study of prosopographic aspects that are rarely dealt with or considered.
