This article analyzes the Mexican public administration in the period 2000-2012, through governance as a new way of governing in the study supported Governance Matters VIII conducted by the World Bank, in order to meet the assessment indicators government performance in the country. To do this, the study is structured from the general to the particular, beginning with the definition of the public service; the performance of government and public administration; governance; the distinction between governance and good governance, and performance indicators of governance in public administration.
