Resumen de Funciones comunicativas del lenguaje de niños ciegos y videntes

  En este artículo se presentan los resultados de un estudio longitudinal sobre las funciones pragmáticas del lenguaje de dos niñas gemelas, una de ellas ciega y la otra vidente desde los 2,5 a los 5,3 años. Los datos indican que las dos niñas muestran inicialmente diferencias en el uso del lenguaje. Mientras la niña ciega usa el lenguaje para referirse a sus propias acciones, con más rutinas, llamadas y repeticiones, la niña vidente usa el lenguaje más orientado a la realidad externa y a los intercambios sociales.

  Estas diferencias desaparecen al final del periodo estudiado.

  Results are reported from a longitudinal study on the pragmatic functions of the language used by twin sisters born prematurely: one blind, the other sighted, from the age of 2;5 to 5;3 years. At the beginning of the study, the blind girl used language in reference to her own actions and employed more routines, calls, and repetitions than the sighted child, whose language use tended to be closely linked with the external reality and social exchanges. These differences had disappeared by the end of the study.
