Resumen de A New Source of Nicholas of Autrecourt's "Quaestio": The Anonymous "Tractatus de sex inconvenientibus"
The many difficulties of Nicholas of Autrecourt's Quaestio have often been stressed by scholars. The most striking of these difficulties are the various differences between the two manuscripts that transmit the Quaestio: Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Ms. lat. 6559, ff. 191r-193v (referred to as MS A), and Paris, Bibliothèque Nationale de France, Ms. lat. 14576, ff. 212r-214r (referred to as MS B). My aim in this article is to focus on one of these differences, namely a series of arguments de perspectiva, only included in MS B, in order to show that those arguments are taken almost verbatim from the anonymous Tractatus de sex inconvenientibus. The identification of this source corroborates not only that Nicholas of Autrecourt was one of the first Parisian masters to adopt the new analytical language developed at Oxford, but also that the Tractatus de sex inconvenientibus was one of the first texts from the Oxford Calculators to be read and quoted in Paris.
