    el objetivo de la investigación ha consistido en saber quiénes fueron los miembros de la orden militar de Montesa durante el siglo xVII. Teniendo presente la situación de la insti- tución en el momento de la incorporación a la Corona en 1592 y su evolución hasta el final del Seiscientos, dando cuenta finalmente, a través de fichas individualizadas, de los 431 caballe- ros, 205 religiosos y 25 freyles barbudos protagonistas de la orden de Montesa del siglo xVII.

    The goal of this research was to identify the members of the Order of Montesa in the seventeenth century, based on the situation of the religious and military order at the time when it was united with the Crown in 1592 and its subsequent evolution throughout the whole of the following century. The result was the identification through individualized records of the 431 knights, 205 monks and 25 bearded friars of the Order of Montesa in the seventeenth century.
