    Proponemos un análisis de la organización visual de una fuente tan importante como poco estudiada hasta el momento. Se trata del cuadro intitulado "Quadro de historia natural, civil y geográfica del reyno del Perú", fechado en 1799 y cuyo original se encuentra hoy ubicado en el Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales de Madrid, España. Nos interesa hurgar en los significados posibles de la distribución interna de los diversos textos de Lequanda y de las pinturas de Thiébaut que contiene.

    This text offers an analysis of the visual organisation of a source which is as important as it is so far unexplored. I am referring to the painting «Quadro de historia natural, civil y geográfica del reyno del Perú» of 1799, nowadays kept in the Museum of Natural History in Madrid, Spain. I am interested in trying to understand the possible meanings associated to the inner distribution of the diverse texts of Lequanda and the drawings of Thiébaut that this huge painting contains.
