Resumen de Towards a modified notation of support verbs (considerations on German material)
The paraphrasing system of MTT makes use of lexical and syntactic rules, of which some of the latter are optional when paraphrasing support verb constructions. For a formal description of the conditions, whether or not an optional syntactic rule has to be applied for a certain paraphrase, it is necessary to have information available about the distribution of actants between the predicative noun and the support verb. To provide this information in a system-atic way, we propose a modified notation of support verbs in particular government patterns or in terms of Operij, instead of the traditional notation of Operi. The discussion is based on German material.
