  En este artículo se pretende mostrar el papel de las matemáticas ante el milenio, su mundo, sus tendencias en el nuevo siglo, sus retos de investigación y cómo mantener su vigor en este siglo. Además, evidenciar algunas de las inquietudes que a nosotros como maestros nos deben preocupar en nuestro quehacer diario.

  This paper tries to show the roll of mathematic in the millennium, its world, its tendencies in the new century, its challenges of investigation and how maintaining its vigor in this century. Besides we show some of questions that it must worry to all of teachers like us on the daily tasks.
