  This paper analyses the evolution of occupations and income sources of country families and agriculturist families in the State of Paraná. To accomplish this task, special micro data sets (containing information from 2001 through 2004 years) from National Household Sample Survey were used. A relevantreduction in the number of families connected to agriculturist family sector is observed. On the other hand, in urban areas the growth of residents exclusively dedicated to agriculturalactivities is noted, concurrently with the growth of residents occupied in a diversified set of activities. These occupational movements constitute a new feature in rural areas. Goingover to the income issue, the income from retirement and pension benefits have greater relevance for agricultural family exclusively dedicated to agricultural activities and alsofor families with members occupied in other activities and with autonomous members (but not dedicated to agricultural activities)

  Este trabalho analisa as transformações ocorridas a partir do comportamento das ocupações e das fontes de rendas das famílias rurais e agrícolas. A pesquisa utiliza como base as tabulações especiais dos microdados das Pesquisas Nacionais de Amostra de Domicílios (PNADs) dos anos de 2001 a 2004. Os resultados obtidos revelam uma importante redução do número de famílias rurais pertencentes ao segmento da agricultura familiar; crescimento do número de famílias deste segmento residentes em áreas urbanas envolvidas exclusivamente em atividades agrícolas, mas também de famílias com pluriatividade intersetorial, o que se configuranum novo aspecto da ruralidade. Em relação às rendas verificou-se que as fontes de aposentadorias e pensões possuem maior significado entre os agricultores familiares comatividade exclusivamente agrícola, mas também nos grupos de famílias de empregados e conta própria não-agrícolas.
