Resumen de Competitiveness of the Brazilian soy complex exports

  Este estudo visa identificar o comportamento das exportações do complexo soja brasileiro. Utilizando o modelo de comércio internacional Constant-Market-Share para os períodos 1995 a 1998, 1999 a 2001 e 2002 a 2004, identificou-se que os efeitos competitividade e crescimento do comércio mundial foram os que mais colaboraram para o crescimento das commodities grão, farelo e óleo de soja nos períodos analisados. As inferências deste trabalho foram feitas a partir de dados coletados junto ao Sistema de Análise das Informações de Comércio Exterior (Alice), da Secretaria de Comércio Exterior (Secex), da Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) e da Organização Mundial do Comércio (OMC). Com base nos resultados encontrados pode-se afirmar que o Brasil tem uma importância significativa no comércio mundial de soja e apresenta condições edafoclimáticas favoráveis ao aumento da produção.

  This study aims to identify the behavior of the exports from the Brazilian Soy Complex. Using the international trade model known as Constant-Market-Share for the periods 1995 to 1998,1999 to 2001, and 2002 to 2004, it was determined that the effects of competitiveness and increase of world trading were those that contributed the most for the increase of soy grain,meal and oil commodities, in the analyzed periods. The inferences of this work were taken from data collected from the Sistema de Análise das Informações de Comércio Exterior (Alice) — Information Analysis System on Foreign Trade —, the Secretaria de Comércio Exterior (Secex) — Brazilian Foreign Trade Department — the Food and Agriculture Organization ofthe United Nations (FAO), and the World Trade Organization (WTO). From the results found, it can be inferred that Brazil has an expressive importance in the worldwide trading of soy and presents soil and climatical conditions that are favourable for the increase of this production.
