Resumen de Drug policy: What impact does it have on children and youth?

Isabella Cristina Barral Faria Lima

  • The article presents a review of national and international literature about policies on drugs, notably on the strategy of harm reduction, placing in context the actions in development for children and youth in Brazil. Through exploratory analysis of production and non-exhaustive bibliography, and without the use of statistical criteria, we present an overview of the current situation and discussion of main trends. As a result, we identified that the state investment in public policies for treatment and prevention of drug abuse is very recent; and that the strategy of harm reduction is still poorly known and surrounded by much controversy, especially when dealing with children and adolescents.
