  • Resumen
    • Computerised corpuses are indeed extremely helpful tools for the management of vast amounts of data, especially if these data are organised in such a way that searches can be conducted successfully without the interference of large sums of non-organised, non-filtered, information.

For a corpus to be a search tool for finding information related to the historical study of language it is necessary to have set the different parameters that are required in order to locate the lexicon within the adequate coordinates by the time of its design.

This investigation presents the Computerised Corpus of Old Catalan (Corpus Informatitzat del Català Antic, CICA), together with the defining criteria which have been followed in order to establish the different sub-sections of the core aspects of the corpus: the diachronic, the typological and the dialectal domains. Some relevant examples that illustrate how the exploitation of this corpus works are also included.
