Objective: To analyze the variability of supportive therapy used for chemotherapy protocols in ovarian cancer, in a sample of Spanish hospitals. Method: The supportive therapy was recorded, for every chemotherapy protocols, based on the following data: medication, dosage, days, administration route, infusion time, administration order and administration time with respect to chemotherapy. Results: 31 records were obtained, without finding any complete coincidence in the support therapy for any scheme. When only drugs and/or therapeutic group were evaluated, a higher similarity was observed, with the exception of the liposomal doxorubicin scheme. Conclusions: It is necessary to establish a protocol for support therapy by taking into account the recommendations from scientific and professional societies as well as every hospital's economic policy. Information for the nursing personnel about when and how to administrate support therapy is fundamental for obtaining the maximum efficiency of these treatments
