Many analysis of idioms show that lots of them can be substituted by simple words, like nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs. Even though this is not always possible or it is not always so easy, the fact is that all the idioms do have its meaning. Therefore in this paper I analyze the possibility to elaborate a dictionary of idioms that doesn't part from the formal structure of the idiom but from its meaning. On the example of the Spanish adverb bien I show that there are many idioms with this or similar meanings, but not all of them can be exchanged freely. That is why I consider that this kind of dictionary would make us see all the possibilities in one place, comprehend their use and choose the right and appropriate idiom for a determined communicative situation.
