Un doble esdeveniment celebrat a la ciutat de Poitiers (França) mereix la nostra atenció. D’una banda, l’exposició «Le Stuc. Visage oublié de l’art médiéval» –del 15 de setembre fins al 16 de gener de 2005 al Musée de Sainte-Croix. De l’altra, el col•loqui que hi va tenir lloc entre el 16 i el 19 de setembre de 2004 amb el títol «Stucs & décors, de la fin de l’Antiquité au Moyen Âge. ve-xii e siècle». El motiu d’aquesta doble cita ha estat la presentació dels estucs trobats l’any 1984 a Vouneuil-sous-Biard (prop de Poitiers) avui dia donats al Musée de Sainte-Croix. Després de quatre anys d’intensa recerca per part de Bénédicte Palazzo-Bertholon i Christian Sapin des del Centre d’Estudis Medievals d’Auxerre en col•laboració amb el museu de Poitiers i el Servei Regional d’Arqueologia, era el moment d’exposar les interessants descobertes d’aquest important conjunt format per 2.500 fragments d’estuc. La presència d’una obra del Museu Episcopal de Vic en l’exposició converteix ambdós esdeveniments en un fet important també per al MEV.

Two events that took place in the French town of Poitiers deserve our attention. First, the exhibition “Le Stuc. Visage oublié de l’art medieval” that was held in the Musée de Sainte-Croix and lasted from the 15th of September to January 16th 2005; the other, a colloquium occurring at the same venue between the 16th and 19th of September 2004 with the title “Stucs & décors, de la fin de l’Antiquité au Moyen Âge. ve-xii e siècle”. The reason that these two events took place was to allow the public to see the stuccowork found in Vouneuil-sous-Biard (near Poitiers) in 1984. What was discovered in 1984 has been donated to the Musée de Sainte-Croix. After four years of intense research, carried out by Bénédicte Palazzo-Bertholon and Christian Sapin from the Medieval Studies Centre of Auxerre and in collaboration with Poitier’s museum and the Regional Service of Archaeology, this important and interesting collection consisting of some 2500 stucco fragments was finally put on exhibition. During these two important events a piece that belongs to the Museu Episcopal de Vic was also exhibited making them all that more special to MEV.
