Resumen de El nou edifici del Museu Episcopal de Vic

In the year 1995 the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalunya had architects Federico Correa and Alfonso Milà undertake the task of building the new Museu Episcopal de Vic. The building was build just next to the Cathedral in the very same place that was home to the old museum, right in the very centre of the old quarters of the town. The architect Beth Galí gives a synopses of the essential philosophy behind the architectural styles of these two architects giving light to how it was applied in the case of the new Episcopal building. She emphasises the exampled way with which its architecture has adapted itself to the urban fabric, taking into account the museum’s own needs as host of extraordinary collections.

L’any 1995 el Departament de Cultura de la Generalitat de Catalunya va encarregar als arquitectes Federico Correa i Alfonso Milà la construcció del nou edifici del Museu Episcopal de Vic. Aquest edifici es va aixecar al costat de la catedral al mateix emplaçament que ocupava l’antic Museu, en ple centre històric de la ciutat. L’arquitecta Beth Galí fa un resum de la filosofia essencial de l’estil arquitectònic d’aquests arquitectes, així com de la seva aplicació en el cas del nou edifici del Museu Episcopal. Destaca la manera modèlica com la seva arquitectura s’ha adaptat al teixit urbà partint de les necessitats museístiques pròpies d’aquesta extraordinària col•lecció.
