  • The significant increase in the number of latex allergies and the high consumption of medicines containing this compound in our hospital have led to the elaboration of a guide about the content of latex in medicines administered by parenteral route and intravenous fluids in order to increase drug safety of allergic patients. This guide was made by consultation with the technical departments of all pharmaceutical laboratories. The results are presented in tables showing the active principles or composition, the trade marks, pharmaceutical laboratory and the content of latex or not. This guide constitutes an effective measure to avoid the exposure of allergic patients to latex
