    Josep Gudiol i Cunill (1872-1931), a priest and a citizen of Vic, was the Curator of the Episcopal Museum of Vic from 1898 until his death. His task as head of the Museum allowed the structuration and consolidation of a project centered on creation, preservation and diffusion of the Museum’s collections. The continuous interaction between this work and a very intense and highly qualified scientifical activity places the figure of Josep Gudiol in a key position in order to understand the origins of catalan scientifical museology in the european context of that time.

    Josep Gudiol i Cunill (1872-1931), prevere vigatà, fou conservador del Museu Episcopal de Vic d’ençà de 1898 i fins a la seva mort. La seva tasca al capdavant del Museu va permetre estructurar i consolidar un projecte centrat en la creació, preservació i difusió de les col•leccions del Museu. La interacció constant d’aquesta tasca amb una activitat científica molt intensa i d’extraordinària qualitat situen la figura de Josep Gudiol i el mateix Museu Episcopal de Vic en una posició clau per comprendre els orígens de la museologia científica catalana en el context europeu de l’època.
