  • Resumen
    • Objective: To evaluate the situation about drug prescription in the pediatrics department of the Pare Tauli Healthcare Corporation with respect to: 1. Drugs of- label use. 2. Drugs not commercialized in Spain. Methods: Three-month prospective study. For every drug prescribed by the pediatrics department, it was evaluated whether it was or not authorized by the General Directorate of Pharmacy and Sanitary Products (GDPSP). Results: 319 hospital admissions (311 patients) took place. 1292 drugs (140 active principles) were prescribed. 84.2% of the patients received at least a drug with of-label use and/or not commercialized. Conclusions: The use of drugs not authorized by the GDPSP in pediatrics is very frequent. Professionals must acknowledge this situation and follow common directives with only one purpose: the patient's safety
