    En este artículo se presenta un breve recorrido por el mundo de la localización de páginas Web. En este contexto, más allá del mero debate terminológico, conceptos tales como “traducción asistida por ordenador” o “memoria de traducción” forman parte fundamental de este campo. Aunque en el mercado se ofertan diferentes herramientas de software propietario, en la actualidad se está detectando un aumento en el uso tanto docente como profesional de otros tipos de herramientas, tales como Google Translator Toolkit (GTT) u Omega T.

    This article provides a brief description of the field of Website Localization in translation. In this context, beyond mere discussion on the most appropriate terminology to be used, concepts such as “computer-assisted translation” or “translation memory” play an important role in this field. Although there are a number of property software tools available on the market, nowadays the use of other kinds of tools − such as Google Translator Toolkit (GTT) or Omega T − in increasing in both the academic field and the professional area.
