Las aportaciones de la colonia industrial escocesa en la génesis del fútbol en Cataluña (1880-1906)

    El objetivo de este artículo radica en abordar la influencia de los futbolistas escoceses en el nacimiento y posterior desarrollo del fútbol en Cataluña en el marco contextual del proceso de industrialización. Para realizar dicho artículo nos basaremos en el estudio y análisis de fuentes secundarias extraídas de archivos históricos y otras de carácter hemerográficas. En un primer apartado nos centraremos en el estudio de la influencia que el proceso de industrialización tuvo en Cataluña, concretamente en la localidad de Borgonyà colonia industrial del ramo textil, origen de la aparición de un equipo de fútbol: Asociación de Torelló, destacando el hecho de ser el primer equipo formado por jugadores escoceses en Cataluña. En un segundo apartado y siguiendo con la influencia de los ciudadanos escoceses en los albores del fútbol en Cataluña centraremos el objetivo del trabajo en el recorrido futbolístico del equipo de San Andrés de Palomar, mayoritariamente con capital escocés y con trabajadores especializados de la empresa textil Fabra y Coats, que llegó a competir con el nombre de escocés foot-ball Club. Un equipo integrado por jugadores escoceses y que llegó a disputar los torneos más importantes de la época, la copa catalana y la copa Macaya. Las fuentes utilizadas serán de carácter hemerografico centrados en las publicaciones de la revista los Deportes y del diario La Vanguardia. Como conclusión comentar que la influencia de los jugadores escoceses fue vital en la consolidación del fútbol en Barcelona, llegando algunos de sus miembros a destacar tanto a nivel técnico como posteriormente ocupando cargos de relevancia en la organización del fútbol Catalán.

    The aim of this article is to address the influence of Scottish footballers at birth and subsequent development of football in Catalonia. To this article we will build on the study and analysis of secondary sources drawn from historical and other character from magazine. In the first section we will focus on the study of the influence that the process of industrialization in Catalonia had , specifically in the town of Borgonyà industrial colony in the textile industry in the early game. Origin of the emergence of a football team: Association Torello , highlighting the fact that the first team of Scottish players in Catalonia. In a second section , following the influence of the Scottish people in the early days of football in Catalonia focus the goal of working in the travel soccer team San Andrés de Palomar , mostly Scottish capital and workers with specialized textile company Fabra and Coats and came to compete with the name of Scottish foot -ball club . A team of Scottish players who came to play and the most important tournaments of the time, the Catalan Cup and the Macaya Cup team . Concluding remark that the influence of the Scottish players, was vital in strengthening the football in Barcelona, reaching some of its members to highlight both technically and subsequently occupied senior positions in the organization of the Catalan football.
